In 1935 the Moravia and surrounding territories, seeing the need of a better school system and the inadequacy of the present building, brought up the topic of centralization of Moravia and the surrounding territories into one central school district. After much discussion the Board of Education and citizens of the community agreed to form a central district which included twenty-five districts, thus creating the Moravia Central School District. On February 24th, 1950 the cornerstone of the new school building was laid. Today the Moravia Central School District has 171 students in grades 7 and 8. Eighty of those students are involved with the Moravia Central Music Department and fifty involved with one of the three bands available to them in the instrumental music program.
