In 1935 the Moravia and surrounding territories, seeing the need of a better school system and the inadequacy of the present building, brought up the topic of centralization of Moravia and the surrounding territories into one central school district. After much discussion the Board of Education and citizens of the community agreed to form a central district which included twenty-five districts, thus creating the Moravia Central School District. On February 24th, 1950 the cornerstone of the new school building was laid. Today the Moravia Central School District has 238 students in grades 9 through 12. One hundred and twenty five of those students are involved with the Moravia Central Music Department and seventy five involved with the one of the three bands in the instrumental music program.
